My homegirl and Miami blogger Jewel of
Jewel’s Fab Life is hosting the Garnier Greener Tour this Friday from 4pm-6pm in Miami. I’m all kinds of jealous that I can’t attend. It’ll be an epic event for several reasons…
- The beauty pimped out Garnier bus will park its sexy self at a Walmart parking lot. What’s inside the bus? Garnier goodies, cupcakes and information on how we can recycle our cosmetic packaging.
- TerraCycle’s partnership with Garnier means there will be bins on site to encourage you to bring old shampoo, conditioner, and lotion bottles to recycle.
- Hairstylists will be on site in case you’d like to upgrade your locks a bit.
- There will be plenty of games and activities.
- You’ll get to hang out with Jewel!
The event is absolutely free but you do need to
RSVP to confirm your attendance. If you make it – tell Jewel I said “hi!” For more information, check out Jewel’s post
here.
If there’s anything that kissable
Kermit the Frog taught us it’s this: It’s good to be green. So it’s no wonder
Garnier and
TerraCycle will be hitting the 305 for
The Garnier Green Tour on
Friday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Walmart located at 8400 Coral Way. Think fully loaded tour bus that will be making stops stores all over Florida offering beauty buffs cool ways to help protect Mother Nature like this:
• TerraCycle collection bins to encourage people to recycle empty personal care and beauty items
• A TerraCycle representative on site to educate on recycling and upcycling
• Garnier samples
• Garnier styling stations
• Fun games and activities
The crown Jewel (pun intended) of this event? My girl,
Jewel Figueras from
Jewel’s Fab Life is hosting a
Miami blogger and reader meet-up from 4 to 6 p.m.. It’s FREE and there will be Garnier stylists doing fun hairstyles, sweet treats, and
Garnier gift bags for all attendees. Everyone can bring any empty or old hair care, skin care or cosmetic packaging for recycling (which is perfect since you’ll need to make room for all those new Garnier goodies!) Jewel is also hosting a Garnier giveaway
here. Hope to see you all there!
TerraCycle has a solution for getting rid of all the non-recyclable waste from the Fourth and other summer parties through its collection program, the TerraCycle Brigade program. Anyone can send non-recyclable packaging from summer events – such as chip bags, napkin wrapping or plastic cups – to TerraCycle free of charge to be recycled or even repurposed into new, useful and innovative products. http://www.terracycle.net/
Cigarette butts are often discarded without thought, but thanks to a unique program that tiny plastic filter could have a new lease on inanimate life as a plastic pallet in a factory.
The new innovative eco-program designed by TerraCycle Canada is called
Cigarette Waste Brigade. The smoker simply collects all parts of the extinguished cigarette, including the filter, outer plastic packaging, inner foil packaging and rolling paper – even the remaining ash – then packages it all up and mails it to TerraCycle.
As of June 25, 2012 more than 5,700 units have been collected from 81 different locations, according to company officials.
