If you have a cereal killer in the house, you can definitely take advantage of it this month. Through the end of October, a joint promotion between
TerraCycle and the MOM Brands Cereal Bag Brigade will let you turn those empty cereal bags and cereal bag liners into a cool gift.
I love using natural cleaners and I am happy to say that these from Terracycle products are both affordable and effective Terracycles products are made from all natural, non-toxic ingredients created to work well and be family friendly. I am particularly fond of the bathroom cleaner which can be used on everything from counters to tubs to mirrors.
MOM Brands (formerly Malt-O-Meal) and recycling waste-management giant TerraCycle are offering an upcycled lunch bag or shopping bag to individuals or organizations that send in their used cereal bags.
…nestled in a tiny nook of Trenton, NJ, is a company that’s revolutionizing the way we look at waste, TerraCycle.
On the surface, they’re that cool company that up-cycles
CapriSun packets into Tote Bags and circuit boards into picture frames; however, when you activate your inner sustainability nerd and look just a bit deeper, their business becomes much less arts and crafts and much more smarty-pants.
Picking kit includes gloves, bandana, flashlight, magnifying glass, note pad and pen, tshirt, Kid Pickers Book and the
TerraCycle Bag made from recycled Capri Sun pouches!
I’ll be there on October 4th and 5th representing
TerraCycle at The Naked Grape Wine station where you can come learn about how this wine is made and why their new 3 liter box wine package is fully recyclable from bag to box.
Trick-or-treating through the whole neighborhood can really work up a sweat! Keep the kids hydrated by passing out an Appely Ever After or Berry Berry Good Lemonade. Each pouch is only 40 calories and sweetened with only fruit juice. Plus, Honest Tea participates in the
TerraCycle program!
Our next drop off date for TerraCycle is Saturday, October 5 from 8-noon at the Habitat Office!
Here is just one example of what you can drop off - no sorting required!
The Aquarium will weigh the collected wrappers, sort according to recycling viability and send the wrappers to a recycling partner, TerraCycle.
TerraCycle creates recycling systems for hard-to-recycle waste, turning trash to treasure in the form of new products like park benches, purses and backpacks.
Tiffany is the Chief Design Junkie at TerraCycle where she designs new products from what most people consider garbage. She has her Masters in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute where she developed her thesis "Trash Nouveau - Reincarnating Garbage into Usable Products."
