Beyond great taste and affordability, Sally’s is also a smart cereal choice that’s more sustainable for the environment, packaged in bags instead of boxes – which means 75 percent less consumer packaging waste compared to comparably sized bag-in-box cereals. In addition, Sally’spartners with TerraCycle Canada^®, an international recycling company, to turn cereal bags into useful products and support schools in the process. For every Sally’s bag collected by Sally’s Cereal Bag Brigade, TerraCycle and Sally’s will contribute $.02 to the designated charity or school of choice.

Juice pouches, energy bar wrappers and potato chip bags are all items that can’t be recycled traditionally. Instead, the school sends such waste to a New Jersey business called TerraCycle, which takes the rubbish and repurposes it into other products. Long Beach Unified School District board member Diana Craighead applauds the efforts of the Longfellow community to be environmentally sustainable.

Tyndall provides recycling for 1 and 2 plastics, newspaper, cardboard, aluminum, etc. Consumers can help eliminate overflowing landfills by collecting normally hard-to-recycle products and packaging.

Wijkcentrum Schieringen is een pennen actie begonnen. Je kunt hier jouw oude / kapotte pennen of stiften inleveren. Op deze manier willen wij meedoen aan het recyclen. Van alle pennen/ stiften wordt een nieuw product gemaakt, zoals een gieter, afvalbak, enzov.. Zie ook op www.terracycle.nl Op de bar staat een box waar je de pennen en stiften in kan deponeren. Voor elke 5 kilo pennen krijgt het wijkcentrum geld. Dit wordt besteed aan nieuwe en/of bestaande activiteiten van het wijkcentrum.
