If you're like most people, you either toss the bottle in the trash with a twinge of guilt or put it in your recycling bin and hope for the best—you're not sure it's recyclable and suspect it might get sorted out and sent to a landfill anyway. Earth Day has us once again re-evaluating our own efforts to preserve the planet, we decided to finally figure out how to ensure that the dozens of product packages we go through each year don't end up languishing in a landfill for all eternity. Here's a new action plan for recycling beauty-product waste that's totally doable.

You’ll then receive a coupon for 20% off a brand new car seat, and your old one will be sent for recycling. All car seat brands are accepted for recycling. Isn’t that great?!

Getting inspired to go green can be a challenge, even for the most earth-conscious individual. Sometimes, however, summoning that motivation starts with smaller, practical changes to your lifestyle. Whether that means switching from paper to cloth towels, conserving water, or abandoning disposable cutlery in favor of durable alternatives, “going green” doesn’t have to be an uphill battle.

In honor of Earth Day, TerraCycle has partnered with personal care brand Tom’s of Maine to launch #LessWasteChallenge, a stakeholder engagement campaign to reduce waste. Those wanting to participate in the campaign can take an online pledge to reduce their total household waste by one pound per week. The #LessWasteChallenge website includes a selection of tips and DIY projects to help participants get started with their waste reduction.  The website also includes an interactive map of the U.S. so participants can view the pledges and pounds by state.

Titled ‘Perpetual Progress,’ the 2015 report documents Crown’s continued advancement in the economic, environmental and social dimensions of sustainability. It also underlines Crown’s broad efforts in fiscal years 2013 and 2014 to improve its sustainability footprint, resource use and emissions per standard unit, even as the Company has seen global volume growth and expanded its geographic reach.

Between now and May 7, Pasadena, Pearland and Webster area residents can recycle used car seats! In celebration of Earth Month, 36 Target stores across Texas are hosting a car seat collection program to help residents reduce household clutter without sending waste to landfill. All car seats collected through this program will be recycled through TerraCycle so that each component will see a second life.
