The grand prize winner of the challenge will win a plastic playground plus the installation for a $50,000 value. This playground will be made from recycled Colgate oral care products collected through the Colgate Oral Care Brigade program, a free recycling program operated by Colgate and Terracycle.
The competition was put on by Terracycle, a recycling program that awards money for recycled items. For this competition, the first school to collect 200,000 juice pouches was awarded a new playground set made of recycled juice pouches.
The playground will be constructed completely from recycled dental products, such as empty toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes and floss containers.
The contest is sponsored by TerraCycle, Colgate and ShopRite. What the playground looks like can be seen above.
The challenge is courtesy of Colgate-Palmolive (“Colgate”), the global oral care leader; ShopRite, which has more than 250 stores in the Northeast; and recycling pioneer TerraCycle.
