SFU is on the Road to Butt Out

Did you know that cigarette butts can actually be recycled? I didn’t either until a very short time ago. Did you know that one cigarette butt contaminates up to one hundred litres of water? And that’s not the only negative impact that cigarette waste has on the environment.  With over five trillion cigarette butts littered each year, they are the world’s largest litter problem, and we want to do something about it!

Pet Pantry is A Drop Off Location for Recycling Program

While pet owners often consider the impact packaged pet food has on their pets, the same consideration is not often given to the impact it has on the environment. Pet food company, Earthborn Holistic is aiming to provide food that’s beneficial to both pets and the environment. By teaming up with TerraCycle, Earthborn Holistic pet food bags are now recyclable through the Earthborn ReBorn Recycling Program, a free, national recycling program. Pet Pantry Warehouse of Greenwich is a public drop-off location for the program, allowing Greenwich residents to return their empty bags during store hours and aid in the reduction of local landfill waste.

{WIN} ANCHOR UNO - MORE THAN A YOGHURT

The Environment: Once the kids have refuelled with Anchor Uno, they can recycle or reuse the packaging.  Thanks to TerraCycle, New Zealanders are able to collect and recycle their Anchor Uno yoghurt pouches returning them free of charge to TerraCycle who will upcycle the pouches into children's pencil cases and carry bags or recycle the pouches in to new products such as chairs and park benches.  Returned pouches raise TerraCycle points which convert to dollars to be gifted to your local school, charity or community group.  Visit Terracycle for more information about how to return your yoghurt pouches for free!
