Today, TerraCycle is a highly-awarded, international upcycling and recycling company that collects difficult-to-recycle packaging and products and repurposes the material into affordable, innovative products. TerraCycle is widely considered the world’s leader in the collection and reuse of non-recyclable, post-consumer waste. The Environmental Committee is creating opportunities for Park Slope Coop members to be a part of this great opportunity to RECYCLE even more products.

There are a few drawbacks to pouched foods, of course. Namely, they are difficult to recycle. Most pouches are made of laminated, fused polymers that recycling centers cannot separate. Though some programs like TerraCycle have the capacity to recycle or upcycle pouches, consumers must mail used pouches to facilities.
Students at Thayer Christian Church Preschool are among the top collectors of snack bags in The Hain Celestial Group Snack Bag Brigade, a free, national recycling program created by The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. and TerraCycle.
By collecting used snack bags from foods such as The Hain Celestial Group’s Garden of Eatin’ snacks, Terra chips or any other brand, the school has helped to divert more than 14,000 units of snack bag waste from landfills, while also earning money for their school or charity of choice.
TerraCycle upcycles and recycles traditionally non-recycable waste (including drink pouches, chip bags, tooth brushes and many more) into a large variety of consumer products. These products keep waste out of our landfills and contribute to a cleaner world. TerraCycle products are available at a wide range of major retailers from Wal*Mart to Target as well as online.
VENHUIZEN - Een lollie wikkel of snoeppapiertje hoort in de prullenbak, zou je denken. "Nee, niet doen", vinden ze bij Scouting Sint Lidwina in Venhuizen. De scouting is namelijk gestart met het inzamelen van gebruikte snoepverpakkingen.
De scouting zamelt in en alles wordt vervolgens gerecycled. De scouting ontvangt een financiële bijdrage voor elke verpakking die ze stuurt. Scouting Sint Lidwina maakt hiermee deel uit van een uniek recycling programma: de Fruittella Snoep Brigade, een gezamenlijk initiatief van Fruittella en TerraCycle. Dit programma heeft als doel om verspreid over heel Nederland zoveel mogelijk snoepverpakkingen in te zamelen en te recyclen tot nieuwe producten.
Op het clubhuis staan speciale snoeprecycling dozen waar alle scouts de verpakkingen in kunnen stoppen.Scouting Sint Lidwina is een van de eerste teams die zich in Nederland heeft aangesloten en heeft inmiddels de eerste dozen met snoepverpakkingen opgestuurd. De opbrengst van de inzameling gebruikt de scouting voor de aanschaf van nieuwe materialen en voor activiteiten. "Dus kom maar op met de lege kauwgomverpakkingen", laat Lidwina weten.
La mairie de
Castelreng s'est engagée auprès de la Protection civile de l'antenne haute vallée afin de récupérer les tdiscs Tassimo usagés, pour chaque tdiscs collecté, celui-ci sera recyclé par l'intermédiaire de Terracycle et des fonds nous serons reversés. Le collecteur est disponible à la mairie aux heures d'ouverture, les lundi et mercredi, de 10 h 30 à 12 h 30 et le vendredi, de 13 h 30 à 19 heures.
La Protection civile est présente sur l'ensemble du département, et met en œuvre des actions de secours lors des inondations par exemple, elle couvre les manifestations sportives et culturelles et fait de la formation dans les écoles, en entreprise et également pour les particuliers au tarif de 35 € le PSC1.
