Regina Coeli Catholic School has unveiled its Outdoor Learning Area, just in time for spring... The school is collecting donations of toothpaste tubes, caps, floss containers, toothbrushes and Entenmann’s Little Bites plastic pouches through June 30 as part of playground challenge sponsored by Colgate & Meijer. The items will be sent to Terracycle, which turns them into new, recycled products.

L'Occitane has partnered with TerraCycle to launch a recycling program that allows consumers to drop off used beauty and skin care products at participating locations.

L'Occitane en Provence, a beauty company with high-quality skincare, body care and fragrance, is now giving consumers a free way to recycle all brands of beauty and skin care packaging. Through the L’Occitane Recycling Program, in partnership with TerraCycle, consumers can now drop off all brands of empty personal care and cosmetics packaging at participating L’Occitane full-price retail locations across the U.S. to divert these items from landfills and receive a 10 percent discount toward one full-size product purchased that same day.

One issue plaguing recycling efforts is the fact that only certain waste is accepted for recycling while the rest has to be thrown away. DaVita Kidney Care Center, a Tacoma-based treatment center, is offering its employees a way to recycle their traditionally non-recyclable waste easily and sustainably with TerraCycle’s Kitchen Separation Zero Waste Boxes.

If you buy pet snacks and treats, they usually come in plastic pouches. These are primarily polyethylene but contain other materials, so they don’t belong in grocery store bag recycling bins. You’ll need to find a TerraCycle brigade to recycle these products, and there aren’t currently any pet food pouch programs.
