A local pet store has been announced as a location for animal owners to drop off empty food bags for recycling.
Earthborn Holistic, a national pet food manufacturer, is teaming up with TerraCycle — a international firm specializing in the repurposing of materials most difficult to recycle — to recycle its food bags at no cost to consumers at the Athens PetDepot through the Earthborn ReBorn Recycling Program.
Henkel, a manufacturer of adhesives, sealants and functional coatings, including the Loctite brand, is partnering with TerraCycle to become the first company to offer a recycling solution for anaerobic adhesives. Through the Adhesive Recycling Program, Henkel customers can purchase a postage-paid recycling box that they fill with empty Loctite adhesive containers and send to TerraCycle for processing. TerraCycle will thermally treat the containers and turn them into new plastic products.
Chesbro Music is hosting a free recycle and restring event for local musicians. Sponsored by D’Addario, participants can bring old guitar strings in to recycle, as well as get their guitars restrung with D’Addario NYXL or Nickel Bronze Acoustic strings. The collected strings will be recycled through Playback, D’Addario’s national recycling program.
