Colgate and Shoprite Celebrate This Year’s “RECYCLED PLAYGROUND CHALLENGE”

Beginning now through June 13, schools in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut and Maryland have a chance to win a new playground made completely of recycled material. To be eligible, the schools must participate in the Oral Care Brigade™, a free recycling program run by Colgate and TerraCycle. Schools will earn one ‘Playground Credit’ for each shipment of empty toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, and floss containers sent to TerraCycle.

Together we rewrite environmental history

As simple as that: Pens don't have to end up in the bin no more, instead they can be recycled by an environmental enterprise for a good purpose. Just collect your empty pens in a box of your choice which you can send to TerraCycle for free and in exchange you'll get 2 centimes for each item, that you can donate to the charitable organization of your choice.

Skyers recognized as Top Merchant

More than 100 schools participated, earning credits by sending in used oral care products. The winning school, BelovED Community Charter School in Jersey City, N.J., received its new playground in November.

Because You Asked: Can I Recycle Toothpaste Tubes?

TerraCycle’s mail-in recycling programs in collaboration with Colgate and Tom’s of Maine are just about the only recycling options available. You can collect your empty toothpaste tubes (as well as old toothbrushes and floss containers) and ship them for free to TerraCycle to be recycled into new products. Large enough shipments can raise money for your chosen school or charity. Alternatively, you could upcycle that old tube into a useful craft.
