Celebrating Earth Day!
But I’m definitely guilty of tossing the broken toys and things with missing pieces straight into the garbage. This year, in order to reduce the number of toys ending up in landfills, Tom’s of Maine partnered with Terracycle to make these awesome toy recycling boxes!
It’s Almost Earth Day!
I’ve always hated throwing away things that can be recycled. Then Sayward mentioned how Tom’s of Maine and TerraCycle are working together to recycle traditionally un-recycleable things. So I went to check it out. I found something even better. There are a bunch of ways that you can recycle through TerraCycle.

Making Earth Day Matter!
Well, we are super stoked to have been able to team up with Tom’s Of Maine (I’m a member of their Goodness Circle, remember) and TerraCycle, an incredible company that collects unwanted waste products (ie trash) and turns them into awesome new, usable items. Working together like this last year, Tom’s and TerraCycle kept 11,000 pounds of personal care packaging out of landfills, and that’s just the beginning (learn more here).
Let’s Recycle and Upcycle for Earth Day
Earth Day is in April and this special day always reminds me to step up my game when it comes to being environmentally conscious. A simple and easy way to be green is to buy products produced by responsible and sustainable brands like Tom’s of Maine. Since it’s creation in 2012, participants in the Tom’s of Maine Natural Care Brigade®with TerraCycle® have kept more than 295,000 pieces of waste out of landfills.

Holistic Mom celebrate ‘Unrecyclable Challenge’
The Holistic Moms Network will present The Great Unrecyclable Challenge in honor of Earth Day on Tuesday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Woodruff Family YMCA, 631 Orange Avenue.
The group says there is a website called Terracycle.com that tells people how to recycle items not accepted in city recycling collections.
