Bathroom drawers around the world are straining under the weight of half-used lipsticks, barely touched eyeshadow palettes and dried-up mascaras that are usually months (if not years) past their
expiry date. These products, once finally discarded by their owners, have typically ended up in landfill — adding to the already enormous strain on the environment. The good news is you can now recycle your used beauty, hair and skincare products, and it won't cost you a cent.
Playback is the world's first instrument string recycling program, launched through a partnership between D'Addario and TerraCycle. By participating, musicians can help reduce waste in the environment while getting their guitars restrung at no cost.
TerraCycle’s Design team is a dedicated department devoted to upcycling, also known as creative reuse. Conceptualizing upcycled products for brand sponsors, contest prizes, and DIY tips, the Design team has a flair for keeping ours offices looking freshly furnished, and spreading the word of reuse through the community. Earlier this year, we were exhibitors in TRASHED, a juried exhibition hosted by Artworks Trenton meant to educate the viewer about upcycling, and delaying and preventing the accumulation of solid waste through upcycling waste into art.
