BY Cristina Kinon National Geographic Channel's "Garbage Moguls" isn't your typical New Jersey-based reality series. Instead of peddling trashy behavior like "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" or even trashier outfits like Snooki and her gang, "Garbage Moguls" star and TerraCycle CEO Tom Szaky deals with actual, literal garbage. "There's a certain kind of irony there," Szaky tells The News. "Our show wasn't picked up because it's based in New Jersey, but it's an awesome coincidence that just as Jersey is getting big in the world of reality TV, our show is trying to make a run for it."

This new docu-reality series follows an ingenious group of eco-capitalists at TerraCycle, Inc., a green business that creates and sells products made from non-recyclable waste materials. In the opener, Pedigree challenges the TerraCycle crew to develop a line of pet products. With a strict two-week deadline, the participants quickly get to work, collecting hundreds of old dog-food bags and using them to make a variety of products, from leashes and collars to dog toys and rain gear.

I’ve never watched “Jersey Shore,” but I think if I were going to watch a trashy show set in New Jersey, I’d go with “Garbage Moguls.”

MTV's Jersey Shore is no longer the trashiest New Jersey-based reality show on television thanks to a new series premiering this weekend.  Garbage Moguls will hit the air Saturday, August 21 on the National Geographic Channel as the trashiest of all reality shows...literally! Garbage Moguls will take "an inside look at the zany way" TerraCycle, develops products made completely out of trash. Led by Princeton University drop-out and worm poop connoisseur Tom Szaky, the show follows TerraCycle's team of young "eco-capitalists" as they brainstorm, argue over, go dumpster diving for, and eventually create new products that help solve America’s waste problem.

This Saturday, National Geographic will be airing the pilot along with three brand new episodes!  Set your DVR’s – plan a night in with friends – but don’t forget to watch Garbage Moguls this Saturday night.  The fun begins at 7pm ET as they replay the original pilot episode, followed at 8pm’s Pet Project, 9pm’s Fishy Business, and at 10pm pull an All-Nighter with the TerraCycle crew.

Earth Day 2009 TerraCycle premiered Garbage Moguls on National Geographic Channel and now it's back! On August 21st it's back! Catch three all-new episodes back-to-back at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 p.m. EST (check your local listings). You all already know how important I feel it is to do our part to make the environment a big priority in our lives and in the lives of our children.  I mean we all want there to be an actual planet here for future generations, don't we?  So, in my quest for a better environment I came across what may just be the coolest program....TerraCycle.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE TerraCycle.  I can talk anyone's ear off about TerraCycle!  I am looking forward to this show: Saturday, August 21, starting at 7pm-my DVR is already ready to record, I will probably also be watching it live!!!  TerraCycle is an excellent program/company.  Check out the show!  FYI: You can follow TerraCycle on Facebook and on Twitter!

TerraCycle wants to "upcycle" your mind. One man's trash is another man's ... idea for a TV show? Garbage Moguls, the show where one little company turns trash into "upcycled" consumer goods, is back for season two. Episodes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will air on the National Geographic channel on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 7:00-11 p.m.
