Cosmetics giant L'Oreal is introducing make-up recycling bins across 1,000 UK stores in an environmental push.
Its Maybelline brand and recycling firm TerraCycle will install the recycling points in branches of Tesco, Boots, Sainsbury's and Superdrug.
L'Oreal's UK boss said the firm wants to "lead the way" in creating beauty recycling habits.
Maybelline and TerraCycle make-up recycling bins
Maybelline's make-up recycling bins are being rolled out to 1,000 locations across the country, including Boots, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Superdrug.
When you finish ANY branded make-up product (except make-up brushes and nail varnishes), you can drop it into one of the recycling bins and it will be recycled for free by waste management company TerraCycle.
Does your school need a new playground?
In an Australian first, Garnier and TerraCycle are giving away a playground to the school that recycles the most used beauty products.

From batteries to bras, here's what to do with waste that can't go in the recycling bin.
TerraCycle’s partnership with L’Oréal (and Maybelline and Garnier) allows users to provide a second life for their used cosmetics through the Beauty Products Recycling Program.
Beauty and cosmetic packaging poses a challenge when it comes to recycling. It is complex by nature, and is typically made out of a denser, harder type of plastic that can be difficult to recycle, with multiple materials often used in the one product.
Full credit to L’Oreal for joining forces with TerraCycle a global recycling expert to find new ways to recycle packaging that currently goes to landfill.
Initiatives like the launch of the Beauty Products Recycling Program across L’Oreal brands Garnier, L’Oreal Paris and Maybelline encourage consumers to change their habits, to collect their empty beauty products at home and send them to TerraCycle to be recycled, with L’Oreal Australian covering the costs of the program – brilliant!
