Pivot orders “Terracycle,” “Fairfax,” ends “Jersey Strong"

TerraCycle, a 10-episode series from Left/Right, documents eccentric 32-year-old entrepreneur Tom Szaky and his start-up firm TerraCycle, which takes things that are land-fill bound and recycles, up-cycles and transforms them into new products. The series is produced by Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver and Anneka Jones of Left/Right (Mob Wives, Small Town Security), and exec produced by Jeff Skoll and Belisa Balaban, the latter of whom is also the exec in charge of production for Pivot.

SIMPLE GREEN LIVING . . . Get green with your New Year's resolutions

Barbara Weigand, owner of the Copper River Salon on Moore Street, integrates her eco-conscious mindset into her business at every turn. They participate in TerraCycle’s Beauty Brigade, where up to 40 different types of beauty products can be collected and sent in, including shampoo and conditioner bottles, soap tubes and dispensers, foundation packaging, body wash containers and much more. She’s also put up nine collection bins around Princeton University so that students can easily participate

New Gym Equipment from Capri Sun Big Pouch and TerraCycle

With our TerraCycle brigade, we really wanted to help him out and get some great new equipment that he could use to engage the kids even more, keeping them active as part of developing a healthy lifestyle.  We also just really wanted to be able to give something fun to the kids!  So we got right to work.  We worked things out with the principal.  Beth and I put together a collection box for the pouch drinks.  We wrapped it in silver wrapping paper so that it even sort of looks like a big pouch drink!  We taped some different brands of pouch drinks, including Capri Sun, to the top so that students would know what to put inside.

Terracycle and a Commuity Garden - Good Things Come to Those Who Recycle

Sometimes, the best things in life fall into your lap and are earned at the same time.  You may recall me talking about starting a TerraCycle Brigade with a local school a while back.   Fast forward a couple of months and those kids really did their part in saving their drink pouches and toothbrushes to recycle in my DIY Monster Recycling bins.  And of course they were rewarded, big time.  Not just with worms!

An Update on our TerraCycle Brigade with Capri Sun

It’s been a while since I talked about the Terracycle Brigade with Capri Sun that we are doing at the school my husband teaches at. It turned out it would work better if we had the entire school collecting drink pouches instead of the wide variety of products we initially thought we’d try. We had them collecting Capri Sun containers and any of that sort. How did we end up doing? How was the school rewarded? Let’s take a look

Jefferson Lighthouse Elementary students help earn money for their school

Jefferson Lighthouse Elementary students are cleaning up the environment and earning money for their school. By collecting Capri Sun drink pouches, Jefferson Lighthouse Elementary School students can win playgrounds, park benches and recycling bins for their school or community. Capri Sun is increasing the prizes and benefits of recycling through the Drink Pouch Brigade, the free recycling program operated by eco-pioneer TerraCycle, in order to mark the milestone of almost 200 million drink pouches collected and almost $4 million given to charity since the start of the program

recycle, reuse Taking recycling to a whole new level

CVSWMD also partners with Terracycle, an organization with the tagline “Eliminate the idea of waste.” We collect items such as spray bottle triggers, empty tape containers and cores, foil-lined energy bar wrappers and more as participants in Terracycle “brigades,” in which the items collected create new materials.
