Last week, TerraCycle® announced its Recycled Playground Challenge -- a new initiative in partnership with Colgate, the global oral care leader, and ShopRite, which has more than 250 stores in the Northeast, including our local store, Bill’s ShopRite of Daleville, located at 921 Drinker Turnpike, Covington Twp. -- to help encourage healthy smiles and environments among school children and consumers.
Company’s Zero Waste Boxes offer a place for factory and facility employees to recycle ear plugs and hair and beard nets. Boxes help facilities reduce their environmental impact. Managers can purchase boxes to recycle ear plugs and hair and beard nets separately or a combination box where both can be comingled. Company provides signage to help educate the workforce and increase compliance. When the box is full, it is shipped to Company for processing. The shipping cost is included in the price of the boxes.

Recognition as a Maryland Green School is a significant accomplishment and exemplifies Waldorf School of Baltimore's whole school commitment to environmental literacy for staff, students and the community.

In a contest called "Where Should Our Garden Grow?" Garnier and TerraCycle have asked for public participation to help choose the most deserving community organization to receive the next Green Garden, capable of yielding more than 2,000 lbs of vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers.
UW–Stout currently has two TerraCycle bins, one in the MSC and another on the third floor of Jarvis. These bins collect electronics and ink cartridges. There will be six bins placed around campus that students can throw reusable items that they normally must place in the trash.
A new recycling program called TerraCycle will be making its way to Chapman for the first time during move-out week in the dorms. TerraCycle is a company that takes normally un-recyclable products and up-cycles them into anything from backpacks to clocks.
Organization president Nic Zahasky said they typically collect a third of the runners' shoes at other mud run events. Barrel Aid donates all of the broken and unusuable shoes to TerraCycle, which refurbishes them for people in the U.S. For every 25 pounds of recycled shoes they receive from Barrel Aid, 10¢ is donated to Mission Haiti.
Jackson County (Iowa) Conservation is partnering with Terracycle for another Cheese Brigade campaign. All cheese wrappers collected will be shipped to the Terracycle company for recycling into consumer goods such as tote bags, notebook covers and other goods.
Corrections officials and TerraCycle are expected to announce their collaboration in the coming days. Oregon's inmates put the plastic bags in prison recycling receptacles, which are sent to TerraCycle. The company turns the "trash" into bulk plastics and other goods.
