A New Jersey lawmaker wants residents and business to recycle more materials.
Less than half of all the municipal waste generated in New Jersey is recycled, said Sen. Kip Bateman, R-Somerset.
And innovative recycling techniques can keep a variety of materials from ending up in landfills and incinerators. That includes old toothbrushes, pens and pencils, and single-brew coffee pods, he said.

Office Depot, Inc. (NASDAQ:ODP) announced the launch of its Binder Recycling Program, encouraging shoppers to help preserve the environment by recycling old binders. Starting today, shoppers can bring any old empty binder to an Office Depot or OfficeMax retail location and receive a $2 instant discount off a same-day binder purchase.
On Friday, Shares of Office Depot Inc (NASDAQ:ODP) lost -0.88% to $3.36. The share price is trading in a range of $3.32 – $3.44. The stock exchanged hands with 7.74 Million shares contrast to its average daily volume of 10.67 Million shares.

- Germany-based Henkel Corp.—a manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, and coatings—has partnered with TerraCycle for a new recycling program around its Loctite brand.
- Customers can purchase a postage-paid recycling box from TerraCycle and fill it with used adhesive containers to be mailed in.
- TerraCycle will thermally process the containers and turn them into new plastic products.
Many binders get tossed in the garbage after each school year. However, Terracycle recycles the binders, reducing waste that would otherwise go into a landfill. Office Depot and Terracycle want to help costumers participate in making resources more sustainable.
