Esta gestión también fue posible “gracias a Federico Heredia, quien nos hizo saber de esta propuesta de la empresa y nos eligió como ONG para ser receptora de este beneficio. Además, queremos extender el agradecimiento a todos los comercios, instituciones, y a la comunidad de Bell Ville en general que han contribuido de diversas maneras en la recolección de los sobres de jugos Tang. De esta manera podremos solventar los gastos que se originan en el grupo (fotocopias, folletería, envío de correspondencia…entre otros) y continuar así con la Campaña de Concientización Vial”, destaca el comunicado de prensa de la entidad.

Naturally, recyclables, trash and compostables get all mixed up. “I’ve always felt bad about it,” he confessed at a recent matinee.

Imagine: Cigarette butts, whether on the street or in an ashtray, can now be turned into something useful. They could even help organizations do some modest fundraising. Yes, butt recycling has arrived in Canada, thanks to a program launched mid-May by an innovative company called TerraCycle Canada (terracycle.ca). What will those butts become? Skids or pallets made from the plastic filters, according to TerraCycle. The organic leftovers — the tobacco and paper — will be composted.

• Trenton-based recycling company Terracycle has launched a new campaign aimed at increasing the rate of recycling for chip bags, and they’re using Hamilton Township as the test case to see if the program can be a success applied to a larger scale.
• So I challenged my team at TerraCycle with a simple, but monumental question. Can we grow the recycling rate of chip bags to that of municipally recycled plastic bottles? It took 40 years to get to the 25% recycling rate of plastic bottles, but is it possible for a small private company to grow recycling rates to the same level in less than 4 years?
• For the challenge, TerraCycle launched a new program called “Chip in for Change,” with the ambitious goal of getting a local township here in NJ up to 30% recycling of chip bags within 4 months. This program was launched on July 11, 2012 in Hamilton, New Jersey and will run through October. With success, Hamilton will serve as a pilot for nationwide scale-up opportunities.

Some Callaway County schools are participating in an international recycling company's re-purposing program. TerraCycle Inc. collects certain trash items that aren't typically recyclable, such as candy wrappers and juice pouches, and uses them to create products like bags, park benches, ice melt and flower pots.
