Maurick College
VUGHT - Leerlingen van het Maurick College in Vught verzamelen sinds enige tijd snoepverpakkingen voor het goede doel: een ziekenhuis in Sierra Leone.
Mensen kunnen hun lege snoepverpakkingen daarbij gratis inleveren voor recycling bij de school. Als beloning hiervoor krijgen ze een vergoeding waarmee ze een goed doel naar eigen keuze kunnen steunen. In het geval van het Maurick College is dat Stichting Masanga Nederland. Die stichting heeft als doel om financiële en materiële ondersteuning te bieden aan de ontwikkeling en het in bedrijf houden van het Masanga ziekenhuis in Sierra Leone.
Initiatiefneemster van het inzamelingspunt op de school is Ellen van Giersbergen, docent Global Learning op het Maurick College. De inzamelingsactie is het resultaat van een samenwerking tussen Fruittella en recyclebedrijf TerraCycle.

TerraCycle wants your trash, and they will pay you (well, a nonprofit of your choice) to send it to them. They take it, make products out of it, and reduce the growth rate of
this nightmare.
