TerraCycle's mission is to find ways to transform hard-to-recycle waste, including drink pouches, candy wrappers and cereal bags. A company spokesperson told us in an email: "The Capri Sun Tote Bag is an example of an upcycled product, where the packaging is reused in close to its original form.

TerraCycle is known for upcycling and recycling packaging that is otherwise non-recyclable. When I worked in preschool education we eagerly joined TerraCycle in helping to eliminate the amount of waste we produced.

TerraCycle, takes our waste, products that would normally end up in the landfill, and they make useful items with them, an example is a backpack made from drink pouches, tote bags made from chip bags, and even coin pouch and iPad cases made from USPS tote bags!

With the Holidays quickly approaching, the last thing on most peoples minds is the waste that we will create. I was given an opportunity to review a couple of products made by a company called Terracycle. With the way that most people think and not knowing how much my readers like to recycle or reuse, I was nervous about trying to think of a way to write up a post.

Terracycle allows you to send in your trash in exchange for a 2 cent donation to your choice of school or charity for each qualified piece of waste that you send in.  Besides the cash payment option they have also added a number of other great ways to reward you and your teams for your collections.
