PIERRE FABRE VA RECYCLER SES BROSSES À DENTS USAGÉES

  Un bon d'achat sera remis aux utilisateurs des marques Inava et Elgydium qui rapporteront leurs brosses à dents usagées en pharmacie pour les faire recycler.  
Les utilisateurs de brosses à dents aux marques Inava et Elgydium de Pierre Fabre, pourront les rapporter dans leur pharmacie pour les faire recycler, à partir de septembre 2016. Et pour les inciter à ce geste, un bon d’achat pour une nouvelle brosse à dents leur sera remis. Les brosses à dents usagées seront ensuite transmises àTerracycle, une entreprise de recyclage spécialisée dans le traitement des déchets difficilement recyclables, comme les gants de caoutchouc, les capsules de café ou encore les mégots de cigarettes. Le plastique sera retraité et transformé en granulés pouvant servir à fabriquer divers objets. Quant au nylon, il sera revendu à l’industrie. L’ensemble du processus de recyclage sera financé par Pierre Fabre Oral Care. L’opération sera limitée aux seules brosses à dents Inava et Elgydium. Juridiquement, explique-t-on chez Pierre Fabre, le bon de réduction ne permet pas d’ouvrir l’opération aux autres marques car il serait compris comme un instrument de captation de clientèle. C’est la première fois qu’une opération de recyclage de brosses à dents est menée en France. Aux Etats-Unis, une initiative de Colgate a déjà permis la construction d’une aire de jeux.

Joliet Junior College to host sustainability events in April

Joliet Junior College staff and students have been working toward sustainability at the college and plan to host events on the initiative in April. JJC sustainability coordinator Maria Anna Rafac said sustainability is more than just addressing environmental concerns – it’s about economics and equity. “You cannot think of a career where sustainability in the broadest sense isn’t being used,” she said.

Forbes Communications Council Member Company TerraCycle Partners With Staples on Zero Waste Boxes

Forbes Communications Council member company TerraCycle announced a new partnership with Staples to sell its Zero Waste Boxes, containers that recycle hard-to-recycle waste. “Since Staples is the largest office products company, this is a really exciting platform for us,” said member Lauren Taylor, TerraCycle’s Global Director of PR and Content. “It’s a great opportunity for individuals and offices to recycle items they’ve been throwing away.”

Sustainable Westford Raises Almost $12K for Schools

Don't throw out your empty baby food pouches and used mascara; upcycle it! So far, upcycling from Sustainable Westford has raised about $11,759.80 for Westford schools and has saved 6,649 pounds of trash from entering the waste stream, according to the Sustainable Westford website. Sustainable Westford's upcycle program can accept: foil drink pouches and their straws; energy and granola bar wrappers; chip bags; oral care products including toothbrushes and toothpaste containers (the heads of electrical toothbrushes cannot be accepted); and writing instruments excluding wooden pencils.
