Det er tid til endnu en omgang “Sådan bliver du mere miljøbevidst”. Og som titel indikerer handler det om mælkelåg. Mere bestemt mælkelåg fra Arla. Plastlåg fra mælkekatorner kan nemlig genbruges, da det er lavet af plast, ligesom jeg skrev i mit sidste indlæg om miljøbevidsthed. Dog kan Arlas mælkelåg bruges til et helt bestemt formål. … Eller… det har de i hvert fald kunnet.. Arla har nemlig tidligere haft indgået et samarbejde med Projekt Hjemløs, hvor man kunne give eller sende sine mælkelåg til bestemte adresser, og hvor pengene (0,50 øre) gik til at støtte byens hjemløse. Læs evt. mere her.

More than 250 projects from 40 states were submitted and a panel of judges that include musician and actor Kevin Jonas; enterprise editor and senior reporter at The Huffington Post, Kate Sheppard; CEO of TerraCycle, Tom Szaky; 2016 National Teacher of the Year, Jahana Hayes; and founder of the I am the Maven blog, Kerri Jablonski, chose the ten most creative ideas as finalists. Now, communities across the country get to choose their favorite classroom lesson.

Office Depot and OfficeMax brands have launched its Binder Recycling Program to encouraging shoppers to help preserve the environment by recycling old binders through recycling company TerraCycle. Shoppers can bring any old empty binder to an Office Depot or OfficeMax retail location and receive a $2 instant discount off a same-day binder purchase, according to a news release.

TerraCycle to Host 11th Annual Jersey Fresh Graffiti Jam

Recycling company TerraCycle is hosting the 11th annual Jersey Fresh Jam, on Saturday, August 6, New Jersey’s biggest showcase of hip hop art and culture. In partnership with Trenton based graffiti artists, Leon Rainbow and Vicious Styles Crew, TerraCycle is providing their headquarters as a canvas for talent around the country to express their artistic freedom. The event will be open to the public free-of-charge.

Recycling program collects over 700,000 recyclable products

With TerraCycle’s help, TerraCycle Mexico has managed to collect over 700,000 recyclable dental care products. MONTERREY, Nuevo León — Colgate’s dental care recycling program has successfully collected over 700,000 products, including toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and their packages. This program not only seeks to benefit the environment, it has also donated $168,327.75 Mexican pesos, which have been destined to various social causes. Among the associations benefiting from this and many other TerraCycle programs are the APANICAL foundation (Association of Parents of Children with Cancer and Leukemia), middle school Juan Escamilla, located in Monterrey, Mexico; and the School of Francisco I. Madero in Mezquitic, Jalisco. TerraCycle Mexico is currently in charge of various programs focused on the collection of soap, bread, cookies, chips and cake packages. Colgate’s dental care recycling program accepts any brand of dental care and the shipping of the wrappers and packages is free of charge. About TerraCycle TerraCycle was founded by Tom Szaky in 2001.
