A marca Head & Shoulders, da Procter and Gamble (P&G), acaba de lançar no Chile o primeiro frasco de xampu reciclável, feito de plástico recolhido de diferentes praias. Excluindo a tampa, as novas embalagens terão até 20% de material reciclado.

Eric Kawabata, general manager for Asia-Pacific with TerraCycle, a US-based recycling company, says the China ban has created a “global crisis in plastic waste”. Japan, where he is based, was a big exporter to China before the ban. “Now all this trash is building up in Japan and there’s nothing to do with it; the incinerators are working at full capacity,” he says.

The material can be recycled through private companies such as Terracycle, but that disposal comes with a price. Citizens should make efforts to return election signs to their respective candidates, which can be made responsible for their storage or disposal.
