121 New York Avenue in Trenton is hosting the 13th annual Jersey Fresh Jam, an all-day celebration of hip hop and urban art, Saturday, August 11 from noon-7 p.m.
Legendary – that single word is the appropriate way to describe Jersey Fresh Jam 2017 which Charm City Streets attended this past weekend. Jersey Fresh Jam is New Jersey’s premiere Hip Hop Festival. Each year artists, DJs, graff writers and musicians from up and down the Mid-Atlantic come together in Trenton to celebrate Hip Hop culture. The tunes are unforgettable, and the artwork is stupendous.
The 12th annual Jersey Fresh Jam bash for graffiti artists, DJs, music performers and anyone looking for fun and entertainment has been postponed 24 hours due to weather concerns. Originally scheduled to be held on Saturday, the jam is now slated to kick off this Sunday at noon at TerraCycle’s headquarters in Trenton at 121 New York Ave.
Allen will perform at the 2017 Jersey Fresh Jam Festival, a hip-hop event in Trenton on Aug. 12, along with other artists. The festival is held at TerraCycle at 121 New York Ave. in Trenton from noon to 7 p.m.
The free event will have “local and regionally known emcees, bands and DJs provide the soundtrack for the day’s festivities.”
Aerosol artists “adorn the walls of TerraCycle with their signature masterpieces.”
There’s no better evidence that your friends and community value you than having them help replace the tools of your trade, in this case sound equipment — the life blood of Ahmad Shakir’s career as a DJ and sound designer.
Last year Shakir, perhaps known better as DJ It’sJustAhmad, was distressed when much of his collection of professional sound equipment was essentially ruined when an outdoor event came to an abrupt close due to a nasty summer storm.
Fortunately, Shakir wasn’t injured, just heartbroken. Even more fortunately, his friends came to the rescue.
The annual summertime Jersey Fresh Jam’s status as Trenton and New Jersey’s leading hip-hop festival gets a boost from the involvement of Masta Ace.
As the British website Jazz Cafe says, “Brooklyn’s Masta Ace is an iconic figure within the East Coast hip-hop scene. His flows have influenced the likes of Eminem, Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane to name few, in a career that has spanned over two and a half decades.”
The Trenton event held since 2005 on the grounds and walls of the Trenton company TerraCycle is set for Saturday, August 12, from noon to dusk.
For the past 12 summers, artists from around the world have converged on Trenton to participate in the Jersey Fresh Jam.
Recycling company TerraCycle is hosting the annual Jam, which is New Jersey’s largest showcase of hip-hop art and culture, on Aug. 12.
In partnership with Trenton-based graffiti artists Leon Rainbow and Vicious Styles Crew, TerraCycle is providing its headquarters as a canvas for talent to express their artistic freedom.
TRENTON >> The Jersey Fresh Jam — hosted every year at TerraCycle’s headquarters in Trenton — has been free for attendees.
The 12th annual event this year, which will be held on Aug. 12, will also cost nothing for visitors.
But organizers are asking the community for some financial support to improve the sound system and pay for premium spray paint for artists at the hip hop festival.
In partnership with noted graffiti artists, Leon Rainbow and the Vicious Styles Crew, TerraCycle will host the 11th annual Jersey Fresh Jam, New Jersey's biggest showcase of urban art and hip hop culture
For the fourth year in a row, graffiti artist Mimik and The Fresh Collective out of Elizabeth have come to the Jersey Fresh Jam to do what they love — spray paint walls with magnificent creations.
“You get to meet a lot of people,” Mimik said of the free event at TerraCycle that features graffiti artists, break dancers and hip hop artists from around the country. “It’s a culture base back in the day ... a return to the past.”
