When an Auckland-based business decided to recycle their old coffee pods into outdoor furniture, hoping to reduce the strain on environment, they approached
TerraCycle, a private U.S. based innovative recycling company that recycles hard-to-recycle waste, and utilizes them in a constructive way.
Coffee capsules and pods have been panned by many as being a wasteful product that focuses too much on single-use items, so TerraCycle and NESCAFE partnered to create these outdoor table benches from them.
The
Eclipse may look like a piece of art but it also makes a brilliant piping-hot coffee too because it actually generates almost the same pressure as the machine your local barista uses. If you’re worried about the effect all those capsules will have on the planet then you’ll be as thrilled as we were to discover the
NESCAFE® Dolce Gusto® capsules are all fully recyclable.
When an Auckland company wanted to recycle its coffee pods, an international business came up with a novel solution. "We drink a lot of coffee here, and the pouches don't get recycled. So, we looked for a way to recycle them and we found TerraCycle," Sallis said.
