Created by TerraCycle and lauded by environmental advocates, Loop is a revolutionary “shopping circular system,” or a zero-waste platform for shoppers. This massive new program enables the packaging of your household products to be collected, cleaned, refilled, and reused, meaning it goes way beyond recycling in terms of sustainable practices.
TerraCycle also has a searchable database that allows you to type in any object and see what’s available. Can’t find a program? No problem. TerraCycle sells Zero Waste Boxes (prices start at $45) so you can pack and ship items such as toy action figures and athletic balls. Your filled box is mailed to a designated center where specific products are recycled (for example, cigarette butts and chewing gum are combined with other waste to eventually become compost and plastic resin, respectively). To maximize the use of a Zero Waste Box consider buddying up with friends, family or co-workers. You can split the cost and fill the box quicker.
Italian in the backcountry? Mountain House has you covered. Their new Fusilli Pasta with Italian Sausage is a hearty home-cooked meal when you need it the most. The entree consists of “spun fusilli pasta in a rustic tomato sauce made with fire-roasted veggies, garlic, basil andItalian-style sausage”. This has become a go-to for late night dinners in the van after long days on the trail. The best part is that it has a clean ingredients list that would make your grandmother proud. Mountain House is committed to using only real ingredients. If you look at their ingredients list (which is listed clearly for each option on their website) you will never find artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Just delicious, ready in minutes food! One thing we’re stoked for this year is Mountain House’s partnership with
TerraCycle to offer free recycling for all empty Mount House pouches.
"The RAI Group supports the
Keep America Beautiful Cigarette Litter Prevention Program and one of its operating companies has a partnership with
TerraCycle, which lets adult volunteers across the country collect cigarette butts and send them to TerraCycle, where they are combined with other recyclable materials to make useful, earth-friendly items such as lumber, furniture, containers and more," said Kaelan Hollon, the senior director of communications for Reynolds American. "To date, this partnership program has collected more than 100 million pieces of cigarette waste, an estimate based on 1 pound of cigarette waste being equal to 1,000 cigarette butts."

- Rebol Family Dentistry in Asheville partnered with New Jersey-based TerraCycle to coordinate the recycling of dental products not currently recycled in the area. Rinsed toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrushes and packaging, toothpaste cartons and floss containers will be accepted at the practice’s office at 69 McDowell St., then shipped to be made into new products.
I appreciate the blends because it gives a greater variety of vitamins and nutrients in each serving. I also love the convenient pouches that are perfect for on the go. White Leaf even offers a free mail-in recycling option for the pouches through TerraCycle because they really care about our Earth! The Pear, Banana & Kiwi is sweet and delicious. Even my 12 year old enjoyed it! These might be designed for babies but can be enjoyed by anyone!
Looking ahead, please save bottle caps for recycling to be collected July 27 at the Green Team Tent. Rinsed out Solo cups will be collected Aug. 24. This is a project in which the Farmers Market is partnering with Terra Cycle.
The school will earn one ‘Playground Credit’ for each unit (“unit” defined as 0.02 lbs of used, post-consumer oral care products and packaging) of oral care waste, such as empty toothpaste tubes and floss containers, sent to TerraCycle for recycling. An additional credit is earned for every online vote cast for the school at
www.meijer.com/colgate or
www.terracycle.com/en-US/contests/colgatemeijerplayground2019 by June 30th. The grand prize is a playground made from recycled oral care waste collected through the Colgate
® Oral Care Recycling Program, a free, national program operated by Colgate and TerraCycle.
Para onde vão seus materiais escolares que não servem mais? Sabia que é possível ajudar o meio ambiente com eles? A Access agora é um time de coleta do programa criado pela Faber-Castell e a TerraCycle para a reciclagem de instrumentos de escrita usados.
