ELIMINATING THE IDEA OF WASTE®

This Company Will Recycle Your Pet Food Bags

When you enroll in the FREE recycling programs, you download and print a free shipping label online through your TerraCycle account. Then you simply collect your pet food bags (you can even put a box at your child’s school or your office to collect their bags too!) and then ship them back in whatever packaging you choose – though recycled is best, of course!

Upcycled pet packages make nifty pet products

Upcycled pet food packages are being turned into dog collars - really. And not just because your little Fido gnawed the bag into something resembling a mangled plastic Frisbee (or perhaps that was an actual Frisbee?) Thanks to Wellness Natural Pet Food – the first pet food brand to partner with recycler TerraCycle – pet owners can upcycle their pet’s food packaging into something new and useable, from collars to totes to, heck, even chairs.

Pet Products Growing Greener

WellPet makes recycling painless for consumers by partnering with TerraCycle to encourage pet owners to recycle their Wellness food packaging. "Many of our consumers recycle regularly, so we wanted to provide an easy way for consumers to recycle their pet food packaging," said Carly White, digital marketing specialist of WellPet. "Recycling is important, and we are happy to be able to offer this option to consumers whenever possible. TerraCycle has made great strides in diverting waste from landfills, transforming it into innovative materials and products and we are proud to support this worthy initiative."

Pet food packaging trends: marketing and technology

The company used its new packaging to delve into sustainability technology, as well, pairing consumer conscience with practicality as the first US-based company to make its packaging nationally recyclable through a partnership with TerraCycle. “We’re very excited for our partnership with TerraCycle,” said Chanda Leary-Coutu, WellPet’s senior manager, marketing communications. “Many of our consumers embrace a green lifestyle, and we’re happy to offer an easy way for them to recycle their pet food packaging, something we know is important to them.”
