Bra In A Box is planning to two to three more Nipco shades for holiday shopping this year. In addition, it’s been testing a Nipco iteration that lifts breasts, and a stick-on bra that lays completely flat and can be rolled up. In August, the brand is kicking off a recycling program with Terracycle enabling customers to recycle used Nipcos and silicone boxes, and it’s introducing new packaging for its silicone boxes that has a clear PVC window to allow for viewing the Nipco within. Along with the brand’s logo, each box reads, “nipple covers, reimagined,” and will be available in rose gold and silver.
Earlier this year, recycling company
TerraCycle made a splash with its new Loop program—which promises to deliver common household items from companies like
Unilever,
Procter & Gamble Company,
Coca-Cola, and
Haagen-Dazs in reusable packaging. It's a subscription program that delivers items to participating households and picks up the empties (to be cleaned and reused) once they're done.
Loop, first announced
earlier this year, was created by international recycling leader TerraCycle in partnership with some of the world’s largest consumer product companies, including Procter & Gamble — the first consumer product company to become a partner. P&G brands like Tide and Pantene are now available through Loop in test cities.

Here’s what actually happens when you toss your plastic (and other recyclable materials) into the recycling bin: “Once you put a material in the blue bin, it’s collected by the waste collector of your city, which is a private entity, and taken to a material recovery facility that sorts all wastes into their right categories,” says Sarah Teeter, global project manager of
TerraCycle, a recycling company that handles hard-to-recycle waste.
The company has also pursued its sustainable goals by partnering with TerraCycle to help consumers recycle used pet food packaging through its Earthborn ReBorn program, as well as planting more than 650,000 trees through its UPCs for Trees program.
Some people may wonder what happens to the Brita filters and pitchers when their life cycle has expired. The company works with TerraCycle so that the filters and pitchers can be recycled into items like cutting boards, toothbrushes, and cups. Consumers can drop off their used filters at London Drugs locations in the western provinces, or mail them back (a minimum of three) to Brita for upcycling.
