Winston-Salem State University’s community garden will get a facelift after a student saved more than 5,000 beauty products from the landfill. Senior Miranda Legg was awarded a $30,000 grant to revamp the university’s Simon’s Green Acre Community Garden at the Enterprise Center after she won a national competition for her recycling efforts.
