Beginning Friday, April 22, Old Navy stores including the Albany location at Heritage Mall will be collecting used flip-flops for recycling. The project, called Flip Flop Replay, will send the old footwear to TerraCycle, a company that  takes hard-to-recycle materials like tooth brushes, drink pouches and flip-flops and turns them into green products. Material from the flip-flops will be used in playgrounds around the country.
