The ground swell of political support for packaging laws could mean a bonanza of new business opportunities for TerraCycle and other recyclers. The Green Dot system in the European union has been around since 1991, and has since expanded to 23 European countries. When consumers see packaging with the Green Dot logo, they know the manufacturer is required to help subsidize the costs of recovery and disposal of waste.
