MADISON – The Madison Area YMCA is inviting everyone to recycle with the YMCA, which is working to help keep the planet “green” with the help of TerraCycle.

It’s easy to overlook our furry friends while seeking out ways to make our lives a bit greener and more environmentally conscious. With more than 160 million pets in American households, and possibly upwards of 800 million worldwide, our favorite companions have quickly become an unsustainable force to be reckoned with.

As we all know, Summer has to come to end at some point. With that comes the start of a new school year. To help make things a bit easier when shopping and preparing for back to school, I have created this Back to School Guide.

TRENTON, N.J. — Brita and PUR have partnered with TerraCycle to allow consumers to recycle their filters and reduce landfill waste, according to a press release.

If you've spent any time at all on my blog, you know that a lot of my upcycling isn't glamorous. I'm most interested in what I can do with trash! I've worked with juice and milk bottles, beer cans, toilet-paper rolls, an old frisbee, negatives, plastic lids and lots of alley-grab furniture.

In this fun, pop culture exploration, two ecological entrepreneurs examine the materials we use in our daily lives, show how they impact the environment, and provide project ideas—from recycling to upcycling and more—to lessen our impact and protect our world.

TerraCycle has always approached marketing in an unconventional way. We have to, really, considering the success of our business model is dependent on how engaged and motivatedour consumers are. In a world with so many conflicts and globally relevant issues, getting people to realize the scope and scale of some of our most serious environmental issues is always an uphill battle.
