Cool For School Event: TerraCycle Pet Spray & Trash Can Protector Giveaway 3 Winners

About TerraCycle It’s always great to hear about companies like Terracycle because they make eco-friendly products and recycling is always a great way to give back. But what makes Terracycle unique is that they take non-recyclable products to make new products that other people would see as garbage. Terracycle is one of the fastest growing eco-friendly companies in the world. This of course is because of good reason!

Green Fashion Monday: Backpacks, Formerly Billboards

It’s back-to-school time, so make sure the young people in your life are equipped with a backpack that helps preserve the future for them – and looks cool too. TerraCycle’s durable “Billboard Amped Backpack” ($24) which is made of used billboard vinyl (and a reclaimed seat belt), helps advertise that they care about the planet. It’s also water-resistant, comes with a lifetime warranty, and is made in El Salvador. Since each pack is unique, however, you won’t know which color you’ll get until you get it.

DAY 176 : TERRACYCLE

Are you tired of every child in the school having the same back pack? Would you like for your child to have something different and unique this year? Would you also like to help the environment by diverting trash from our nation's landfills? The obvious choice is Back To School with TerraCycle <http://www.terracycle.net/> . They have many back to school items all made from recycled materials. My 8yr old received the Yak Pak Backpack Would you believe Yak Paks <http://www.terracycle.net/products/77-Yak-Pak-Backpack>  are made of recycled billboards? Every one of these is an original one of a kind backpack. Because it's made of vinyl, it's water resistant and can handle everyday wear and tear. Some of the features include an integrated protective sleeve for laptop computers with screens up to 15.6" and adjustable straps.

Terracyle Can Turn Trash Into Treasure (Video)

An eco-friendly company named Terracycle is literally turning trash into treasure. The New Jersey company, founded by a Princeton University dropout named Tom Szaky, collects product packaging that would normally end up in a landfill and creates products that are not only friendly to the environment, but also good for the schools and non-profit organizations that receive donations from Terracycle as a result.

Garbage Mogul Green

Set your DVR if you cannot tune in. During the show they will be posting trivia questions on their Facebook page <http://www.facebook.com/kurig?success=1#%21/TerraCycle?ref=ts>  for prizes.

Garbage Moguls - Green Living Experts

Recycling has become second nature for most green living families It is no longer difficult to find products that contain recycled materials and  recycling centers are becoming pretty popular. Review & Giveaway: TerraCycle

This is why I was so excited to learn about TerraCycle <http://www.terracycle.net/> . TerraCycle pays schools, families, and communities to collect non-recyclable waste, which is then upcycled or repurposed to make fun, eco-friendly products like bird feeders, tote bags and cosmetic cases! Things like juice boxes and soda bottles, and now they have two new programs that are more for Moms with little ones - these programs are free fundraisers that pay 2 cents for every used piece of diaper packaging or used baby food pouches! If everyone in your Mom's group was to save these items - which very, very few areas normally recycle, think about how much trash we could save out of the landfills, and you can even make a little money towards projects. It's super easy to sign up for, and when you think about it, saving this packaging for a once a month drop off with your group doesn't take up that much room in our homes. And when Terracycle has collected enough of these materials, they will be upcycling them into unique bibs and diaper bags - how cool is that?
