The DC Diaper Bank is keeping diaper packaging out of landfills and earning money at the same time. The diaper bank participates in the Diaper Packaging Brigade, a recycling partnership between Kimberly-Clark’s Huggies brand and recycling company TerraCycle. DC Diaper Bank staff collects the diaper packaging and for each piece sent to TerraCycle, the diaper bank earns two points, which can be converted into cash. The DC Bank uses the money earned to pay utility bills and keep the bank running. The DC Bank will be accepting donations of diaper packaging from local community members at its warehouse and any of its Ambassador locations throughout the metro area.
